Love and Acceptance...the elusive bits

Updated: Jan 23, 2020

Love and Acceptance…for many, this is our hearts desire and for some of us, an elusive target…so much for Cupid’s arrow.

Cupid's arrow in the clouds

I would venture to say that it is within ourselves we need to find these things, but even that is often a challenge. I am not going to say that you can’t love another, until you love yourself, I have too much practice doing it. I will venture to say that as you find love and acceptance internally, you will recognize and accept it more from those around you. The patterns of self-love, relationship love and community acceptance are most definitely rooted in our Ancestral Legacy. How these behaviors are expressed or not, is something that has been modeled since before birth.

This is when I might suggest using a practice like a Loving Kindness meditation to reduce the internalized barriers to finding love and acceptance. These practices can be focused on a younger, child version of yourself, when it is too difficult to send it to your current self.

I often use a prism effect when working on these kinds of wounds within myself. Looking at it from every angle when doing the healing work.

There are many ways to work on our ability to express and receive self-love. It is never too late or the wrong season, to light a candle for love and acceptance of ourselves, create a poppet of ourselves to love and care for as we wish to be cared for, or to weave a love spell around ourselves. Any of these actions is a powerful choice to realign our connection with love and acceptance in our lives.

Aligning ourselves with love, not only creates a resonance for more love in our lives, I also believe that it will create a well of power, that is useful in many ways in our lives.
